abstract |
The invention relates to a segmented reactor for the regeneration of a spent acid ionic liquid via a hydrogenation and hydrocracking reaction, comprising: no solid hydrogenation catalyst; a gas inlet on one side for supplying a gas charge comprising a hydrogen; a liquid inlet on an opposite side for feeding a spent acid ionic liquid; partitions along an axis of the reactor which create segments, each segment operating as a bubble column reactor; and an outlet from which regenerated acidic ionic liquid flows out of the segmented reactor. |
