abstract The present invention relates to a room-temperature-curable, anti-corrosion sol-gel coating composition for a metal substrate, comprising a water-stabilized zirconate-silica nanoparticle sol-gel stabilized with carboxylic acid or 2,4-pentane. -dione, which is combined with a glycidoxyalkylalkyloxysilane before coating on a metal substrate. The coating is chemically cured on the metal substrate to form a protective layer against corrosion.
