abstract |
The invention also provides methods and devices for silicon nanowire electronic pawls as high frequency geometric diodes. When connected to an AC signal, the sawtooth geometric diode exhibits asymmetric current flow properties. During the silicon nanowire etching process, different geometrical properties of the sawtooth portion of the geometric diode may be modified to further limit current flow in the reverse bias direction. In some embodiments, defects along the surface of the geometric diode may be reduced, or surface coatings may be applied to increase the asymmetric nature of the current flow. |
