A device comprising an LED light source optically coupled to a green emitting U 6+ doped phosphorus having a composition selected from the group consisting of U6 + doped phosphate-vanadate phosphors, halide phosphors doped with U 6+, oxyhalide type phosphors doped with U 6+, phosphorus silicate-germanate-type doped U 6+, the oxide phosphors doped alkaline earth the U 6+ , and their combinations. Phosphate-vanadate phosphors doped with U 6+ are chosen from the group consisting of the compositions of formulas (A1) - (A12). The halide phosphors doped with U 6+ are chosen from the group consisting of the compositions of formulas (B1) - (B3). The oxyhalide type phosphors doped with U 6+ are chosen from the group consisting of the compositions of formulas (C1) - (C5). The U6 + doped silicate-germanate phosphors are chosen from the group consisting of the compositions of formulas (D1) - (D11) and the U6 + doped alkaline earth oxide phosphors are chosen in the group consisting of the formulas (E1) - (E11). |
