The invention relates to an apparatus for the detection and chemical analysis of particles, in particular nanoparticles, suspended in an aerosol, comprising: a first aerosol inlet, in particular an ambient air inlet, at least one selection device in nanoparticle size, connected upstream to the first aerosol input, - a laser aerosol particle ablation flight time mass spectrometer (LAAP-ToF-MS), - a condensing nanoparticle magnification unit of water vapor around the nanoparticles suspended in the aerosol, the unit being connected upstream to the size selection device of the nanoparticles and downstream to the mass spectrometer, the unit being adapted to obtain, by condensation around each nanoparticle, a thick water layer such as magnified nanoparticles can be detected and analyzed individually by the mass spectrometer. |
