titleOfInvention SELF-ADHESIVE FILM FOR THE ADMINISTRATION OF ACTIVE AGENTS
abstract A self-adhesive film for covering at least a portion of a surface of three-dimensional (3D) objects such as primary medical devices, body tissues or anatomical structures. When wrapped around a three-dimensional object, a coherent adhesive bond between the superimposed layers of the self-adhesive film is created regardless of the substrate material of the 3D object surface. The self-adhesive film is capable of delivering active agents, such as antimicrobials, drugs, and other biologically active agents, to the 3D object and also to the vicinity of the 3D object and / or an adjacent tissue. The invention relates to various self-adhesive film designs and methods for delivering one or more active agents with various controlled release modes.
