The present invention provides methods for identifying compounds that may have an effect on lipid metabolism, and are therefore of high relevance for a number of human diseases including, among others, obesity, type 2 diabetes (T2D) , non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), pancreatic fatty disease, and fatty kidney disease. More specifically, the present invention relates to methods of identifying modulators of expression or activity of sterile human type 3 mammalian kinase (MST3 = STK24) and said modulators, particularly oligonucleotides, to be used in the treatment of a metabolic disease. |
