abstract |
The present invention relates to a process for preparing floxuridine, said process comprising reacting a compound of formula Ia with a compound of formula IIa in the presence of an Al acid to obtain a compound of formula IIIa in substantially pure form on the diastereoisomeric plane . Floxuridine according to the invention can be used as an anticancer drug. Floxuridine may also be useful in the preparation of other anticancer drugs, for example NUC-3373. |
