abstract |
The present invention relates to a method for evaluating the efficacy of an immunotherapy comprising administering GAD to a patient, comprising the steps of: measuring the distribution of at least one of the subclass of IgG GADA; GADA rates; the distribution of cytokines secreted by lymphocytes; and proliferation of lymphocytes in the presence of GAD or CD3 / CD28 beads; in a first sample of blood, plasma or serum obtained from said patient at a first time and in a second sample of blood, plasma or serum obtained from said patient at a later time; and comparison of the measurements obtained as well. The invention further relates to novel dosing regimens of GAD in the treatment or prevention of type 1 diabetes, which may include administration by injection into a lymph node, oral administration of vitamin D and / or evaluation of the efficacy according to the above methodology followed by an adjustment of the dose and / or the route of administration on the basis of said evaluation. |
