abstract |
The object of the present invention is to be able to increase the activity of a solid acid catalyst used for the production of an aliphatic carboxylic acid ester and thus to obtain an improvement of the efficiency in the production of a aliphatic carboxylic acid ester. The present invention relates to a process for producing an aliphatic carboxylic acid ester which comprises reacting an aliphatic carboxylic acid having 1 to 5 carbon atoms and an olefin having 2 to 4 carbon atoms in a gaseous phase. by means of a solid acid catalyst, a solid acid catalyst in which a heteropoly acid or a salt thereof is supported on a silica support obtainable by kneading fumed silica obtained by a combustion process, a silica gel obtained by a gel method, and colloidal silica obtained by a sol-gel process or a sodium silicate process, the method also consists in molding the obtained kneaded product and in calcining the resulting molded body. |
