abstract |
The present invention relates to various antimicrobial articles which exhibit reduced discoloration after the formation of a silver-containing region in a substrate. The improved antimicrobial articles described herein generally include a substrate that includes a compressive stress layer and a silver containing region that each extend inwardly from a surface of the substrate to a specific depth. , and has a uniform silver concentration profile across the surface of the substrate, so that the article shows little discoloration. The present invention also relates to methods of making and using the articles. |
