The present invention relates to compositions for the efficient regulation of carbohydrate degradation and carbohydrate absorption. More specifically, the present invention relates to compositions containing at least 10% by weight or more of 1-O-galloyl-β-D-glucose (β-glucogalline) and further comprising between about 10% by weight and more than 60% bulk of total mucic acid gallates for the efficient regulation of carbohydrate degradation and uptake by the inhibition of amylase, glucosidase and dipeptidyl peptidase enzymes. |
