titleOfInvention | METHODS FOR ENRICHING MESENCHYMAL STEM CELLS |
abstract | The invention provides methods for enriching non-senescent mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), as well as methods for performing quality control on non-senescent MSCs. The methods include contacting a sample comprising MSCs with a probe (specifically peanut agglutinin, PNA) that binds to a glycan (specifically the T-antigen glycan) expressed at the surface of the MSCs, the separation or the determination of non-senescent MSCs of senescent MSCs based on the difference in expression of glycan at the cell surface, non-senescent MSCs expressing a greater amount of glycan than senescent MSCs. A high amount of non-senescent MSC indicates a sample of acceptable quality. |
