abstract |
The present invention relates to a multi-step method for the in vitro production of enucleated red blood cells and the enucleated red blood cells thus prepared. Such enucleated red blood cells can express fusion proteins comprising an antigen-binding protein that allows the red blood cell to bind to a toxin or antigen of a pathogen. The invention also relates to methods of neutralizing a toxin or pathogen in a subject by administering enucleated red blood cells that express one of the fusion proteins provided herein. |
