| abstract |
The invention relates to a gas sensor element (1) comprising an elongate plate-shaped element body (2), and a porous protective layer (3) for protecting the surface of the element body. The element body has a gas detection portion (4) at an end section at one side of the end surface (21) in a longitudinal direction Z. The protective layer comprises: an end surface section (32) covering the end surface by laminating thereon; multiple side surface sections (33) overlapping, by laminating thereon, multiple side surfaces (22) connected to the end surface; and a corner section (34) connecting two adjacent surfaces from the end surface section and from the side surface sections. The outer surface (31) of the end surface section and one or more of the side surface sections have a concave shape which continues smoothly to the corner section and has a thicker layer thickness to the corner section. |
