A composition comprising a matrix of cross-linked quantum dot nanoparticles, the cross-linked quantum dot nanoparticle array comprising a plurality of nanoparticulate quantum dots crosslinked by ligands. The ligands comprise one or more various compounds, including, but not limited to, one or more compounds comprising an isocyanate group or an isothiocyanate group and one or more compounds comprising at least two alcohol groups, at least two thiol groups or a combination corresponding. In some aspects, the ligands are selected to minimize or prevent agglomeration of quantum dots and to ensure that the plurality of nanoparticulate quantum dots in the crosslinked quantum dot nanoparticle array are spaced apart from each other. at least about 10 nanometers, which minimizes or prevents a Forster resonance energy transfer between neighboring quantum dots. The crosslinked quantum dot nanoparticle matrix obtained has improved optical properties compared to conventional quantum dot films. |
