The present invention relates, inter alia, to methods and apparatus for analyzing particles in a sample. In some aspects, said particles may be analytes, cells, nucleic acids or proteins, which may be contacted with a tag, divided into aliquots, detected by a grading device, and isolated. The methods and apparatus of the present invention may include a microfluidic chip. In some aspects, the methods and apparatus can be used to quantify rare particles present in a sample, such as cancer cells and other rare cells, for the diagnosis, prognosis or treatment of a disease. |
