abstract |
The present invention is provided with: a first transparent electrode; a second transparent electrode; a gradation layer inserted between the first transparent electrode and the second transparent electrode, the gradation layer comprising a polymer network and a plurality of domains which are dispersed in the polymer network and filled with a liquid crystal composition; and a pair of polarization layers sandwiching the gradation layer, the pair of polarization layers being arranged in a crossed Nicol state. The liquid crystal composition comprises liquid crystal molecules, and the alignment of the liquid crystal molecules changes to a vertical alignment when a voltage is applied to the gradation layer. |
