abstract The present invention relates to a light-transmitting cover capable of easily removing heat input from the sun to a display portion in a head-up display device without the need for an expensive element while preserving the luminance of a projected image on the display part A light transmitting element used for the head-up display device is formed of a resin composition comprising a polycarbonate-based resin and is characterized in that it has a thickness in the range from 0.2 to 0.6 mm, in that it contains composite particles of tungsten oxide as an infrared protection agent and satisfies the following expression (1) : 0.02 ≤ A × B ≤ 0.12, where A (in% by weight) represents the content of composite particles of tungsten oxide and B (in mm) represents the thickness of the layer containing the composite particles of tungsten oxide.
