abstract According to one embodiment, the invention relates to a flow battery that comprises: electrode plates comprising a plurality of positive electrode plates and a plurality of negative electrode plates; a reaction chamber; an electrolytic solution; a plurality of first injection holes; and a gas injection part. The reaction chamber contains the positive electrode plates and the negative electrode plates. The electrolyte solution is contained within the reaction chamber and is in contact with the positive electrode plates and the negative electrode plates. The first injection holes are located on the bottom surface of the reaction chamber. The gas injection portion injects gas to the first injection holes. The positive electrode plates and the negative electrode plates are arranged alternately in a first direction, and the negative electrode plates are disposed at both ends in the first direction. The reaction chamber viewed in planar view from the positive electrode plates and the aligned negative electrode plates includes: a first region interposed between the positive electrode plate and the negative electrode plate which is disposed adjacent to said positive electrode plate; and a second zone, i.e. another area. First injection holes are respectively located on the lower surface of the first zone, and first injection holes are either not present on the lower surface of the second zone, or are present in a smaller proportion compared to the first one. zoned.
