A wound treatment apparatus which, in various aspects, includes a wound interface forming a closed space on the wound bed which is sealed to maintain p0 pressure within the enclosed space which differs from the ambient pressure Pamb. A dressing in contact with the wound interface may contact the wound bed, and the dressing may comprise a hydrophobic material, or a silicone distal layer within which perforations are present, in various aspects. The closed space may comprise gas supplied to the closed space having an O2 concentration greater than the O2 concentration of the atmospheric air, and the pressure within the closed space may be varied over a range pressure. The invention also relates to methods of using the wound treatment apparatus. |
