titleOfInvention DEFORMATION-RESISTANT WOUND THERAPY APPARATUS AND METHODS OF USE THEREOF
abstract A wound therapy apparatus may include a wound interface that can be sealingly attached to the skin surface around a wound bed to enclose the wound bed within a space closed tight to fluids. The fluid may be in communication with the closed space to vary the pressure p0 within the enclosed space periodically over the pressure range pmin ≤ p0 ≤ pmax . The wound interface may be sufficiently resistant to deformation to allow distension of at least a portion of the wound bed in the closed space when the pressure p0 within the closed space is less than the ambient pressure. p . The wound therapy apparatus may include a tampon that communicates with the distended wound bed to absorb exudate from the distended wound bed. Also disclosed are related methods of use of the wound therapy apparatus.
