METHODS AND DEVICES FOR DETECTION OF ANTICOAGULANTS IN PLASMA AND WHOLE BLOOD |
abstract |
The present invention provides methods and devices for assessing coagulation, including methods and devices for detecting an anticoagulant or coagulation abnormality. The present invention provides, in various embodiments, methods and devices that measure coagulation of a sample in response to a gradient of one or more coagulation factors. These responses can be evaluated to accurately determine the pattern of coagulation failures in the sample, including the presence of an anticoagulant drug. In various embodiments, the invention provides an on-site or bedside test with a convenient microfluidic device that can be used by personnel with minimal training. |
