abstract The present invention relates to methods for creating or enhancing symbiotic relationships between plants and symbionts, particularly symbionts carrying genes encoding fungal cell wall degrading enzymes. The present invention also relates to novel organisms and symbionts developed by the methods of the invention and nucleic acids, polypeptides and related constructs comprising vectors.
