abstract The present invention relates to a gene editing system and a method of editing a plant genome using the same. The gene editing system comprises a sgRNA transcription unit and a DMC1p-Cas9 transcription unit, the DMC1p-Cas9 transcription unit consisting of a DMC1 gene promoter and a Cas9 gene which are sequentially connected and come from corn. The sgRNA recognition target site conforms to the 5'-Nx-NGG-3 'or 5'-CCN-Nx-3' sequence rules, where N is one of A, T, C and G, X is greater than or equal to 14 but less than or equal to 30, X is an integer, and Nx represents X continuous deoxyribonucleotides.
