titleOfInvention | METHOD FOR PREDICTING THE SURVIVAL OF CHILDREN WITH ACUTE LYMPHOBLASTIC LEUKEMIA |
abstract | The present invention relates to methods for predicting the clinical outcome of cancer patients, and in particular patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), in response to therapy against ALL, preferably conventional chemotherapy, ideally based on glucocorticoids, said methods being based on the presence of particular polymorphisms in genes encoding drug-metabolizing enzymes and apoptic proteins. The invention also relates to methods for predicting the efficacy of conventional glucocorticoid therapy as well as methods for a personalized drug in patients having said polymorphisms. |
