The invention relates to a biological additive which is both a nucleating agent and a reinforcing agent when added to a thermoplastic polyester (eg biopolyesters). A composite material, which is a biopolyester reinforced with additives, has been prepared and improved thermomechanical properties have been quantified. This composite material is a new class of biologically derived material that offers a sustainable and environmentally friendly solution for packaging and other applications. |
