abstract |
Systems, apparatus, and methods for controlling free ammonia in wet flue gas desulphurization processes in which an ammonia-containing wash solution is used to produce sodium sulfate are disclosed. ammonium. Such an apparatus comprises an absorber having a contactor region through which a combustion gas flows and a reaction tank containing a washing solution containing ammonium sulfate. The tank has a side wall and a bottom wall that delimit the perimeter and bottom of the tank. Agitator units are distributed around the perimeter of the tank, each having a lance which injects a mixture of oxygen and a dilute ammonia-containing fluid to the bottom of the tank and a stirrer which agitates the mixture and propels the mix towards the bottom of the tank. The apparatus includes a source of the mixture of oxygen and fluid containing dilute ammonia, and recirculates the reservoir wash solution to the contactor region. |
