titleOfInvention PROCESS FOR OPERATING A CONTINUOUS VERTICAL REACTOR COMPRISING A PRE-HYDROLYSIS AREA AND REACTOR DESIGN AS SUCH
abstract The invention relates to a method of inhibiting the accumulation of sticky reaction product deposits on the internal surfaces of the reactor in an acid prehydrolysis zone of continuous vertical tanks or digesters and a reactor design which allows the implementation of process of the invention. According to the method and the reactor of the invention, a layer (Lay) of alkaline liquid is established on the inner wall of the reactor in the pre-hydrolysis zone, which alkaline layer prevents the formation and adhesion of sticky deposits on the internal wall of the vertical reactor.
