titleOfInvention EXSUDAT COLLECTION CONTAINER
abstract Various embodiments include an exudate collection system that includes a first exudate collection vessel and a second collection vessel. The first exudate collection vessel defines a chamber for receiving an exudate, and the container includes an inlet conduit in fluid communication with the chamber for receiving exudate from a patient and a communicating outlet conduit. fluidic with the chamber to allow exudate and air to exit the first exudate collection vessel. The outlet duct comprises a first coupling surface. The second collection container receives exudate from the first exudate collection vessel. The second collection container has an inlet, and the inlet has a second mating surface. The first mating surface of the outlet duct and the second mating surface of the inlet can engage to create a sealing coupling through which the exudate in the chamber can be transferred to the second collection device.
