The copolymerization of ethylene (E) and methoxypolyethylene glycol methacrylate (MPEGMA) produces the co-E-MPEGMA copolymer. These copolymers are distinct from polyethylene, for example, low density polyethylene (LDPE) grafted with MPEGMA, that is to say, gE-MPEGMA, and are useful in the preparation of insulating sleeves for medium cables, high and very high voltage. Such cables have good inhibition of the aqueous tree. |
