The invention provides a macromolecular compound which is advantageous for the manufacture of a luminescent element of excellent luminance lifetime. More specifically, the invention relates to a macromolecular compound which contains a structural unit having a residue of a compound represented by the formula (1), and a structural unit having no residue of said compound represented by the formula (1). [In the formula, ring A, ring B and ring C represent aromatic hydrocarbon rings, or the like. X represents a boron atom. Y1, Y2 and Y3 represent N-Ry, a sulfur atom or a selenium atom.
