abstract The present invention relates to a rubber composition based on at least one modified diene elastomer and a reinforcing filler, which modified diene elastomer is the reaction product of a starting diene elastomer and an aromatic nitrile oxide, the grafted aromatic nitrile oxide content being in a range from 18% to less than 50% by weight of the modified diene elastomer, the benzene ring of the aromatic nitrile oxide being substituted with one or more substituents of which One is in ortho of the nitrile oxide dipole. The rubber composition used in the tread of a tire makes it possible to improve the compromise between the performance of adhesion and wear of the tire.
