METHODS OF IDENTIFYING AGENTS THAT INDUCE (RE) DIFFERENTIATION IN NON-DIFFERENTIATED OR DIFFERENTIATED SOLID TUMOR CELLS |
abstract |
The present invention comprises an assay for the identification of an agent, which induces (re) differentiation in a tumor cell based on the new combined application of the two lactate labels as the end product of catabolic anaerobic glycolysis and of neutral lipids as the end product of the anabolic synthesis of neutral lipids. The cell-based system is further characterized by a new liquid handling procedure, which allows a valid high throughput screening, even over a longer period of at least seven days, and a new viability test. |
