abstract A method of tracking movement of a body part, the method comprising: (a) collecting motion data from a repositioned body part in a range of motion, the body part having a motion sensor movement mounted on it; (b) collecting a plurality of radiographic images taken from the body part while the body part is in different positions in the range of motion, the plurality of radiographic images having the body part and the motion sensor in a field of view ; and (c) constructing a virtual three-dimensional model of the body portion from the plurality of radiographic images using an identifiable motion sensor structure in at least two radiographic images of the plurality of radiographic images for calibrating radiographic images.
