abstract |
A catalyst for the preparation of methoxyethyl tert-butyl ether from the reaction of ethylene glycol monomethyl ether with isobutylene, comprising, by weight percent, the following components: a) 40 to 95% by weight of SiO 2 /Al 2 O 3 a metal- and/or oxide-modified zeolite molecular sieve having a molar ratio of 2 to 200, wherein the content of the metal and/or its oxide is 0.01 to 5.0% by weight based on the total weight of the catalyst, and the metal is selected from the group consisting of Ni and At least one of Zn; and b) 5 to 60% by weight of the carrier; wherein the sum of the components is added up to 100% by weight. A process and a use of the catalyst, and a process for reacting ethylene glycol monomethyl ether with isobutylene in the presence of the catalyst to produce methoxyethyl tert-butyl ether. |
