abstract The present invention relates to a hydrated silicic acid for rubber reinforcement filling, which has a surface solid acid density within the range of from 1.8 m-mol/m2 to 2.4 m-mol/m2, while containing a cationic or nonionic surfactant. The present invention also relates to a method for producing the above-described hydrated silicic acid for rubber reinforcement filling, which comprises addition of an aluminate salt and subsequent addition of a cationic or nonionic surfactant in a step during the production process of the hydrated silicic acid. The present invention is able to provide a hydrated silicic acid for rubber reinforcement filling, which enables the achievement of a rubber composition that is more improved than ever before in terms of wear resistance.
