abstract Provided is a medical device that is capable of not only preventing contact between a guide wire and a rotating body during a procedure but also cutting an object with the rotating body with an improved cutting efficiency. A medical device (1) has: a sheath (10) insertable into a living body lumen; a rotatable hollow rotating body (110) disposed in such a manner as to protrude from a tip of the sheath; and a guide wire lumen (181a, 182a) through which a guide wire (w) can be inserted in parallel with the sheath, wherein an edge (113a) of the rotating body has a corrugated portion (113, 119).
