titleOfInvention | Detection of borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato in patients with late disseminated lyme infection |
abstract | The presence invention relates to an ex vivo method of detecting a Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato active infection in a skin sample of a subject, said skin sample being treated with an immunosuppressive dermocorticoid before or after sampling, comprising the step of detecting, in said skin sample, at least one protein of Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato chosen in the group comprising VlsE, flagellin, GAPDH, flagellar filament outer layer protein, L-lactate dehydrogenase, enolase, oligopeptide ABC transporter periplasmic oligopeptide-binding protein, neutrophil activating protein, 2,3-biphosphoglycerate-dependent phosphoglycerate mutase, elongation factor Tu, GroEL, Lipoprotein gi|256055301 or gi|365823350 or any Borrelia species homolog thereof, Hypothetical protein BbuN40_0563 or any Borrelia species homolog thereof, and DbpA. The invention also relates to a set of polypeptides of Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato and to the use of the set of polyeptides in an ex vivo method of detecting Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato in a subject likely to present an active Lyme infection. |
