abstract |
The purpose of the present invention is to provide an image forming method with which image gloss can be made more homogenous even if an image made of gel ink is formed by lump-sum irradiation of active rays. The present invention for accomplishing the purpose is an image forming method using a plurality of types of active ray curable ink jet ink having compositions different from each other, the active ray curable ink jet ink containing a photopolymerization compound and a gelatinizing agent and undergoing a reversible phase transition with a change in temperature. The method comprises: a step of gelatinizing each of liquid droplets of the plurality of types of ink jet ink by ejecting the liquid droplets of the plurality of types of ink jet ink from a nozzle of an ejection head and causing the same to land onto a surface of a recording medium; and a step of simultaneously irradiating the radiation rays onto the liquid droplets of the plurality of types of ink jet ink that have landed. |
