The present invention provides a rubber composition for tires capable of improving the balance of performance on ice, fuel economy, and wear resistance, and pneumatic tires using the same. The present invention relates to a rubber composition for tires characterized by containing 10-120 mass parts of silica, 0.2-10 mass parts of a tetrazine compound represented by general formula (1), and 1-50 mass parts of a low-molecular-weight diene polymer having a weight average molecular weight of 200,000 or less, these amounts being expressed per 100 mass parts of a rubber component in which the total isoprene rubber, butadiene rubber, and styrene-butadiene rubber content is 80 mass% or greater. |
