abstract The present invention relates to a feeding device (4) for feeding fibre flocks into a spinning preparation machine, having a feed roller (6), a feed trough (5) and an open electric circuit having a voltage source (14), wherein the circuit can be closed by a metal part contaminating the fibre flocks. According to the invention, the open ends of the circuit are formed by the feed roller (6) and the feed trough (5), and the feed trough (5) is electrically insulated from the feed roller (6), the bearing (17) of the feed roller (6) being the insulator.
