abstract The present invention addresses the problem, with respect to a method for producing mold-derived trypsin-like proteases using yeast as a host, of providing a method that can produce a mold-derived trypsin-like protease at high productivities. The present invention provides a method for producing a protease in yeast, the method comprising inducing the expression in yeast of a gene that encodes a fusion protein having the following in the indicated sequence from the N-terminal side to the C-terminal side: a secretory signal sequence that functions in yeast; a prosequence that has an arginine or lysine residue at the C-terminal and is provided by the introduction of mutation into a prosequence for a trypsin-like protease derived from Fusarium oxysporum; and an amino acid sequence for a trypsin-like protease derived from Fusarium oxysporum.
