abstract A method for determining a physical similar simulation material of a solid filling body. A compact test is carried out on a gangue filling body in a laboratory to obtain an ε-σ curve of the gangue filling body during the compaction process; filling blocks of different proportions are manufactured by using veneers, sponge, and paper, and an unconfined compression test is carried out on the filling blocks used for physical similar simulation to obtain an ε i -σ i curve of the filling blocks during the compression process. The sum of squares of deviations of the filling blocks and the gangue filling body is calculated by introducing the sum of squares of deviations ∑(ε i -ε 0 ) 2 , and an error of the ε-σ curve of a test block and the gangue filling body is determined. The filling blocks of which the sum of squares of deviations is less than 0.5 are finally determined to be the similar simulation material of the solid filling body. Manufacturing and selection of a similar material can reduce the error caused by filling material selection during a physical similar simulation experiment process and provide a guarantee for the accuracy of the physical similar simulation experiment of coal mining with solid filling.
