An embodiment relates to siloxane thiol and siloxane (meth)acrylate oligomers for an optical material. The siloxane thiol and siloxane (meth)acrylate oligomers according to the embodiment can provide characteristics, such as high transparency, Abbe's number, and heat resistance, which are advantages of glass lenses, while maintaining advantages of plastic lenses, by containing the Si-O- bond, which is a basic chemical structure of glass, in thiol and acryl structures. In addition, the siloxane thiol and siloxane (meth)acrylate oligomers not only have an excellent refractive index since the oligomers may contain a metal component through copolymerization, but can also secure light resistance even without using a UV absorber since the oligomers automatically block a UV region, and therefore, the oligomers can be favorably used in the production of various kinds of plastic lenses, such as eyeglass lenses and camera lenses. |
