titleOfInvention | Agent for inducing stress tolerance in plants |
abstract | Provided are: an agent for inducing stress tolerance in plants which exhibits excellent stress tolerance inducing action on plants; a method for reducing a decrease in rice quality; a summer heat-mitigating growth method for turf grass; a method for inhibiting spindly growth of seedlings; a method for inhibiting growth failure of flowers; a method for reducing deterioration in the quality of fruit trees; and a method for reducing deterioration in the quality of vegetables. This agent for inducing stress tolerance in plants includes, as an active ingredient, a compound having a quinone skeleton represented by general formula (I) (in general formula (I): R 1 represents hydrogen, a hydroxyl group, an amino group, a halogen, an alkyl group, an alkenyl group, an alkoxy group, an aryl group, or a –CHR 6 -CH 2 CH=C(CH 3 ) 2 group; R 2 represents hydrogen or the like; R 1 and R 2 may bond to each other to form a benzene ring; R 3 represents hydrogen or the like; R 4 represents hydrogen or the like; R 5 represents hydrogen or the like; and R 6 represents hydrogen, a hydroxyl group, or a group including an ester bond). |
