abstract The present invention provides a method for producing a fluorohalogenated hydrocarbon comprising a step in which the outlet gas of a fluorination reactor is compressed by a compressor, wherein the production method is used to avoid that the hydrogen fluoride contained in the outlet gas condenses during compression, and to obtain a target compound in a stable manner. The present invention provides a method for producing a fluorohalogenated hydrocarbon, comprising a step in which a reaction is brought about between a chlorine-containing compound and gaseous-phase hydrogen fluoride, wherein said production method is characterized in that: included is a separation step in which a reaction product containing hydrogen fluoride, hydrogen chloride, and organic matter that includes the fluorohalogenated hydrocarbon is separated into a plurality of components; the fluorohalogenated hydrocarbon is at least one species selected from the group consisting of 1,1,1,2,2-pentafluoropropane (HFC-245cb), 1,1,1,3,3-pentafluoropropane (HFC-245fa), E,Z-1,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene (E,Z-HFO-1234ze), 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene (HFO-1234yf), 2-chloro-3,3,3-trifluoropropene (HCFO-1233xf), and 1-chloro-3,3,3-trifluoropropene (HCFO-1233zd); the separation step has (1) step 1 for separating the reaction product into a gas phase and a liquid phase, (2) step 2 for elevating the pressure of the liquid phase and supplying the liquid phase to a distillation column A, (3) step 3 for compressing the gas phase and supplying the gas phase to the distillation column A, and (4) step 4 for fractionating a first stream including the hydrogen chloride from the top of the distillation column A, and fractionating a second stream including the organic matter and the hydrogen fluoride from the bottom of the distillation column A; and (5) in step 3, when the gas phase is compressed, the gas phase is compressed in series in two or more stages using a compressor, and the gas fraction of the post-compression gas at each stage is kept at 1 by heating with a heater.
