Provided are: a xanthogen-modified chloroprene rubber, which is capable of achieving both good mechanical strength and good tensile fatigue resistance without deteriorating workability and deformation resistance at low temperature, while maintaining weather resistance and flame retardancy; and a rubber composition thereof. In the xanthogen-modified chloroprene rubber, the amount of bonding of chloroprene units is 78-98.9 mass%, the amount of bonding of 2,3-dichloro-1,3-butadiene units is 1-20 mass%, the amount of bonding of α, β-unsaturated carboxylic acid units is 0.1-2 mass%, and the weight average molecular weight is 340,000-520,000. |
