titleOfInvention Container in the form of an animal cage, a cat litter box, a terrarium or aquarium, with associated film insert, and said film insert as a maintenance insert for cleaning out
abstract The base of the container, specifically the animal cage (3), terrarium or a cat litter box, or a base pan, or the base of an aquarium, is provided with a film insert made of a flexible, tear-resistant film (20) of biodegradable material. This film insert forms a maintenance insert for cleaning out the container. It covers the base and the lower regions of the lateral walls and is used to receive the bedding (24) or, in the case of an aquarium, to receive the sediment or sand. The upwardly projecting lateral edges (2) of the film insert are secured to the inner wall of the animal cage, terrarium, cat litter box or the aquarium or, in the case of an associated base pan, secured to same, by means of retaining means (12). The film insert can be folded up with its lateral edges against the base, with the bedding (24) or the base grit or sand held sealed in, and then rolled up. This filled roll can be disposed of as green waste. The film (20) of the film insert is made of biodegradable plastics based on renewable raw materials, preferably sugar cane, polylactic acid or a polylactic acid blend, that is to say a biodegradable polyurethane film with a thickness of at least 20μ.
