titleOfInvention Medical support arm and medical system
abstract [Problem] To consistently retain a subject for observation in a region of a captured image when an oblique-viewing endoscope is inserted and operated within a subject body. [Solution] A medical support arm according to the present disclosure comprises: a support arm which supports an oblique-viewing endoscope; and a computation unit which computes a rotation angle of the oblique-viewing endoscope about the longitudinal axis and a degree of insertion of the oblique-viewing endoscope within the subject body, on the basis of a first formula which defines the coordinates of a photographic subject in a coordinate system which takes as the origin thereof the opening wherein the oblique-viewing endoscope is inserted within the subject body, and a second formula which defines, in a coordinate system which takes as the origin thereof the leading end of the oblique-viewing endoscope, the coordinates of the photographic subject which is positioned in the optical axis direction of an objective lens which is positioned at the leading end of the oblique-viewing endoscope.
